Employing your own apprentice
Etco can help you find an apprentice for you to directly employ in your business and we can facilitate setting up and lodging the training agreement.
If you choose to employ your own apprentice and have Etco provide the on-job and off-job support and provide pastoral care, then you and the apprentice will receive the same level and quality of service as our Etco employed apprentices.
The difference between employing vs hosting apprentices is that, when you are the employer, you are responsible for paying for annual leave, statutory holidays, sick leave, ACC levies, and PAYE, and block course time off.
The other major difference when you employ your own apprentice is that you are ultimately responsible for ensuring the apprentice stays on track with their apprenticeship and for any disciplinary processes required to keep them on track.
Our Mentor will be on-site with you four times a year and we’ll help you with that and provide the apprentice with access to the Switched-On pastoral care team.
I have found an apprentice and want to arrange to set up the training agreement.
